Urzhnark thrh'h

Urzhnark Thrh'r is located east of the city of Dohral. This territory is under the control of the city of Dohral by contract with the dwarves of the Eastern Citadel. Few adventurers pass through the rugged, nearly impassable, terrain that makes up this "spur of the Urzhnarks" and the region has been a rumored to host dangerous wildlife and worse.

Prominent Features[]

The Lord of Dohral has never appointed a regent to the Province leaving it untended as it was felt (from personal experience when he was marooned in the region) that this rocky and desolate space was essentially impassable and lacked noteworthy resources.

The land has been left undeveloped, and no roadways exist in this Province. No farms nor settlements are located here, and the land is both wild and rugged, home to crag cats and worse.

The south of the Province abutts the Sea of Soroshal in a rocky tumult of waves. These coastal waters are not navigable due to the rocky shoals that extend a fair distance beyond the surface-shown crags that hug the coast, thrusting just above the waves.

Central Urzhnark Thrh'h[]

This bit of land is located inland, away from the seashore, the land here is very rugged with exposed cliffs and rocky outcrops being the norm. This rugged stone is topped with a thin layer or soils where the stone itself is not exposed, and thin grasses and stunted trees compete here for precious nutrients.

Potential Dangers :

  • Crag Cats.  These top-predator animals love to lurk by the trailside on elevated ground, blending well with the terrain, they pounce upon the unwary on the trail below.
  • Ogres. These hunt the region, chances are, they think your PCs are in season.
  • Bugbears. These hunt the trails of the region also, although little is known of their origin.
  • Ettins. Rarely these have been sited in the region.

Rumours :

  • There are many caves in the rugged parts of the countryside around Dohral.
  • There are crag cats among the rugged parts of the countryside around Dohral.

NOTE Some rangers have insisted a route through these mountains exist, but it is largely dismissed as rumor.

East Urzhnark Thrh'h[]

A bit of higher lands overlooking the Illfaw Fen to the east. Rugged, with trails but these are difficult and not well connected to the lands below.

Potential Dangers :

  • Dire Spiders. Toxic hazards of the worst sort.

Resources:

  • Dry Wood can be found at times.
  • Few fruit bushes offer seasonal picking.
  • Rare harvest-worthy trees for crafting.
  • Deer.
  • Water.
  • Herbs.

Rumours :

  • Willow the wisps lure off some from the region, down to the fen at night.

NOTE Dangerous terrain, and with little resource.

North Urzhnark Thrh'h[]

Rugged terrain bridging the gap between the central southern Esrogoth and this spur of the Urzhnarks.

Potential Dangers :

  • Wolves.  a pack is said to roam the lower reaches of the spur.
  • Stag Beetles. voracious nests of the things have been reported on occasion.
  • Assassin Vines. wretched stranglers all.
  • Hill Giants. Rarely, but deadly.
  • Ogres. Hunting parties.
  • Ettins. Two-faced bastards that cannot be trusted.

  • Dry Wood can be found at times.
  • Few fruit bushes offer seasonal picking.
  • Rare harvest-worthy trees for crafting.
  • Deer.
  • Very little Water.
  • Herbs.

Rumours :

  • Some trails south of Esrogoth Hold allowed the lord of that castle to hunt the Urzhnark Thrh'h.

Northeast Urzhnark Thrh'h[]

Rugged terrain, a few trails but they mostly twist about and lead nowhere special. Small game mostly, few deer.

Potential Dangers :

  • Assassin Vines. Evil to the roots.
  • Ogres. Hunt the region at times.

  • Dry Wood can be found at times.
  • Few fruit bushes offer seasonal picking.
  • Rare harvest-worthy trees for crafting.
  • Deer.
  • Herbs.

Rumours :

  • Dwarves hunt this region and take the deer.

NOTE exceedingly rough terrain.

Northwest Urzhnark Thrh'h[]

Difficult terrain with very limited access, some resources in the region (mainly water) attracts fauna.

Potential Dangers :

  • Kobolds

Resources:

  • Dry Wood can be found at times.
  • Few fruit bushes offer seasonal picking.
  • Rare harvest-worthy trees for crafting.
  • Deer.
  • Very little Water.
  • Herbs.

Rumours : Some talk of kobolds captured in the regiion

South Urzhnark Thrh'h[]

Rugged terrain and presenting no potable water. Thin vegetation and sparse soil means little wildlife of note can be found here.

Potential Dangers :

  • Ogres. Likely up from the Illfaw fen for the hunting.
  • Crag Cats. Deadly and stealthy, travelers best beware.

  • Dry Wood can be found at times.
  • Few fruit bushes offer seasonal picking.
  • Deer.
  • Herbs.

Rumours :

  • Ogres have founded a camp nearby.

NOTE Dangerous zone where the hunter can become the hunted.

Southeast Urzhnark Thrh'h[]

Most thinly vegetated isles of rocky outcrop and scarce soils. The small strip of land that is part of the coastline and part of this region is rugged, and difficult to travel, overlooking the sea and the southern Illfaw fen.

Potential Dangers :

  • Ogres. Likely up from the Illfaw fen for the hunting.

  • Deer.
  • Herbs.

Rumours :

  • Giants were spotted near here by adventurers recently.

NOTE The rumors are beginning to get the region some attention, adventurers may find opportunities to hire on in the city for expeditions to the region.

Southwest Urzhnark Thrh'h[]

Small rocky outcrops, many of which are only above water at low tide, hardly worthy of the name 'islands' are the predominant landform here. Those that manage to stay above water in all tides have a thin soil jealously guarded by the weeds and stunted shrubs that grow here.

Potential Dangers :

  • Drowning. Most of the region is comprised of low islets and shoals.

  • Herbs.

Rumours :

  • Mermaids have been sighted here.

NOTE swimming is the best way to explore these isles.

West Urzhnark Thrh'h[]

High ground overlooking the city from the east, it is dreadful inaccessible terrain and fraught with danger to travelers.
